Beacon interview with GOP sheriff candidate Tim Daniels

By CAROLINE CURRAN • STAFF WRITER John Ingram is the current sheriff of Brunswick County. Tim Daniels is a sergeant with the North Carolina Highway Patrol. They both have experience in law enforcement, and they both want to be sheriff. Daniels is a sergeant with the North Carolina Highway Patrol. I have almost 12 years of experience with North Carolina State Troopers. I have been on the roadways, Daniels said. I also have taught classes, what they call a drill instructor at the North Carolina Highway Patrol AcademyIm promoted in management capacity, currently. Daniels said he is running for sheriff because, I think I bring some unique strategies, some unique methods to improve the quality and safety for the citizens in Brunswick County. Daniels said drugs are the No. 1 issue plaguing Brunswick County. One of the top priorities in law enforcement, or one of the top concerns, is the ever-going battle with drugs, drugs and drugs, Daniels said. Brunswick County has a drug problem, and were going to have to continuously combat those issues and come up with new methods, new strategies, new techniques of how we can apprehend the people thats responsible for bringing in the poison into our communities and try to alleviate them as much as possible.
